Deploying unmanned systems in seaport environments offers significant advantages. Applications include inspections, security reconnaissance and intelligence gathering, thermal imaging and surveying to name just a few. With these many opportunities comes a responsibility for port and terminal operators to manage the presence of these devices by third parties.
The Unmanned Systems Panel will discuss the many important security, regulatory and implementation complexities of these new systems as well as what port and terminal operators can do with respect to licensing, tariffs and interdiction as means to manage these devices.
